Main innovation: Lots of interesting talks, exciting discussions and educational training events around parallel-in-time integration methods.
From 17 to 21 July 2023, Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) together with Helmut-Schmidt University (HSU) hosted the 12th workshop on parallel-in-time (PinT) integration. For five days, 53 researchers from 9 different countries presented their research in 4 plenary talks, 22 contributed presentations and 8 posters. Presentations were also live streamed via Zoom.
Training sessions for the pySDC and XBraid software provided hands-on introductions to two of the most widely used PinT software packages. The plenary talks included a presentation by Dr. Iryna Kulchytska-Ruchka from Bosch GmbH, illustrating her research on accelerating simulations of E-machines (i.e., electrical machines such as e-bikes) and discussing potential use-cases in industry for parallel-in-time integration algorithms.
All presentations were recorded and will be published via https://av.tib.eu/ in due time to provide an up-to-date repository of recent research in the field to the wider academic community, adding to the material provided by the 2016 workshop in Banff and the 2021 virtual workshop hosted by Michigan Tech.
